Handy Man or Lady Special!

Needs a LOT of TLC labor cosmetically and bring the systems back to life, but structurally solid, with a well maintained and healthy Diesel Drivetrain.
If you have skills, time and a place to work on a cool project. This could easily be a high 5's to 6 figure machine if done right.
The pictures don't show the good, and are meant to spook the dreamers like me:) The work to do is mainly cosmetic and
freshening systems.
I had this at my work with a garage/shop for the last six years, but have retired. Thought I could finish this at home, but don't have the energy, and have moved to smaller builds.
Had planned on a Nautical theme.

The driver, passenger seats and sleeper sofa are dry in my show car trailer. They are in god shape. Shown in one of the earlier pictures.

This is the "Barn Find" 1967 Corvette of High Quality Motorhomes.

29' TAG Axle Rear Diesel Pusher
5.9 24 Valve Cummins Diesel
5 Speed Allison Transmission
HWH Hydraulic Leveling System
Newmar Custom NewCo Air Ride, Pusher Chassis
All Wheel Disc Brakes!
Tubular Steel Chassis was built specifically for this model..
I believe/understand that Spartan may have had something to do with the engineering and build.

Newmar hand built about 40 of these machines, but did not mass produce, so after about 5 years of development and building, the NewAire program was scrapped and Newmar bought back all but a few of these custom factory builds.
Estimated 10 to 15 still on the road today. There is a club for support:)

The Good:

Nothing like it on the road. I have had people follow me to my destination just to check it out.
The Aircraft Cage Structure is rock solid, and in great shape!
Aircraft Interlocked Aluminum Cage Shell with free hung Fiberglass exterior, including roof.
No Delamination or structural rot. No Rust issues.

This coach drives beautiful, and handles the same. Will U-Turn in three lanes!
It is a rear engine Air Ride Pusher with very generic drive train parts. Have had no trouble with service, parts and repairs.
The rails are custom, but the operation systems are not exotic.
Side draft radiator with great engine access.
Front located Diesel Generator.
Central Ducted AC
Hydronic Diesel Furnace. Looks like a simple and basic system, but I have not personally used it.

I have a stack of receipts going back about 10 years, in excess of 50K in mechanical updates, from the previous owner and me for the last 6 years.
Newer Airbags, Brakes, Turbo, lift pump, Injection pump, injectors, fuel tank clean and flush, updated and newer engine computer, new fly by wire Cummins Accelerator, LED lighting upgrades, Many suspension parts and bearings. Mostly preventative maintenance. Mostly done by Cummins.
Coach has been "stored" for six years. Run and driven from time to time (I recently drove it home 20 miles from Winter Garden).
The coach systems will need to be brought back to life. Has Mostly LED upgraded light inside.

This list of updates and maintenance is far to large to list, but available to review.
The interior was in good condition, but my younger version wanted something updated and special.
Planned on updated counter tops, and appliances. I got into the carpet, flooring, and small areas of window leak damage in some of the paneling. Small areas but decided all would turn out better replacing whole panels. The interior panels are not structural, just cosmetic.

Planned of having the dash Rhino coated, and updating the electronics.

If you find one of these coaches on the market; you may find them priced well into the 70's to 80's unrestored.

This coach is fun to own and would make a fantastic mobile office or TailGator!

The Bad:

Has had some seepage over the years around the marker and running lights. Caused some panel damage, but no structural in the fiberglass/aluminum body. Panels look ugly, but easy replace and repairs. I have removed most of the damaged.
This coach is in much better condition than it appears. Did not Glamor shoot the photos. If they spook you, this may not be the project you are looking for.

This could be a fun build for someone with tools, skills and a place to work, but a money pit for most of us.

Most of remaining work, can be supported through Home Depot or Lowes:) Found the interior marine wall panels at Lowes.

The Ugly:

Newmar makes a current production Newmar New Aire, the lists in the 700K range, but does not offer any support for these older classic models. Most of the engineers and management that built this coach are retired or no longer with us. RIP Virgil.

The tires have very few miles, but are starting to weather check and will eventually need to be replaced.

On Sale or trade for 44,900 (Reduced!) as she sits. Interesting trades considered? In person offers for the right buyer considered. Classic, or muscle cars. Will trade plus cash to you, me or even.

Available for professional and or mechanical inspection. Always starts, and the high dollar batteries, Inverter rebuild are about six months old.
I was the GM of a Newmar Dealership and kept the coach at the dealership. It has been serviced to death!
